Development News Portsmouth Development Showcases Latest Interior Design Trends28 April 2010
This season’s hottest interior design trends have been unveiled at an elegant new show apartment at Admiralty Quarter, Crest Nicholson Regeneration’s award-winning development in Portsmouth. Created by renowned interior design company, Alexander James Interiors, the apartment showcases a sophisticated mix of the latest colours, fabrics and furniture and should help provide inspiration for property purchasers looking to decorate their new home. Hayley Simpson of Alexander James Interiors comments: “The new show apartment at AQ is absolutely stunning and has been designed to highlight some of the latest interior design trends. We have used a striking colour palette of rich creams accented with chocolate browns and various shades of purple, from a deep plum to lilac, to give the space a luxurious feel while ensuring the space is still light and bright. We have used a selection of different fabrics including velvet and leather along with chrome and mirrored furniture to add to the effect. The apartment should give buyers some great ideas as to how they can use current design trends in their own homes.” Helen Boniface, Marketing Manager for Crest Nicholson (Regeneration) Ltd. comments: “AQ continues to be very popular with a range of purchasers, from first time buyers and downsizers to investors and professional couples and, as a result, a really strong community has already developed. The new show apartment should be very useful for potential purchasers as it will provide a real glimpse of what life would be like at the development.” Adjacent to the Historic Dockyard and a short walk to Portsmouth city centre, Admiralty Quarter consists of 17 individual apartment blocks ranging from four to eight storeys. At its heart is a private courtyard garden of nearly an acre which conceals underground parking for residents. A number of the remaining apartments offer stunning views of the harbour and the spectacular 22-storey Admiralty Tower, in which the apartments have now all sold, forms a focal point for the development and gives Portsmouth a spectacular new landmark. AQ is also well connected, with train services out of Portsmouth Harbour station, just a few minutes walk away, providing high-speed links into London Waterloo in an hour and a half, and mainland Europe just a ferry-ride away.
